Henry Canova Vollam Morton FRSL (known as H. V. Morton), (26 July – 18 June ) was a journalist and pioneering travel writer from Lancashire, England. He was best known for his many books on London, Great Britain and the Holy Land. Morton's quest for London's heart Henry Vollam Canova Morton (or HVM), was Britain’s foremost travel writer during the period between the wars, hailed at the time as “the world’s greatest living travel writer”. Morton was born to Margaret and Joseph in the town of Ashton-under-Lyne in North-West England.
